Apple Doubles 'Find My' Network Capacity to 32 Devices, Enhancing User Tracking Capabilities

Apple, the tech giant known for its innovative solutions, has recently made a quiet yet significant update to its popular ‘Find My’ app. In a move that enhances the app’s functionality, Apple has increased the number of items users can track, doubling the limit from 16 to 32 devices as part of its iOS 16 update.

This notable change was first spotted by tech enthusiast Nicolas Alvarez (@nicolas09F9) in an Apple support document. The increase in the device limit signifies a substantial upgrade in the ‘Find My’ network’s capability, allowing users to track a wider array of devices than ever before.

The expanded list of trackable items now includes not only AirTags but also a range of Apple headphones, including certain Beats models, newer MagSafe wallets, and third-party Find My network accessories, such as e-bikes. Apple’s support document elaborates on the specifics: “You can add up to 32 items in Find My. In addition to AirTag and the third-party Find My network accessories in the Items tab, AirPods Max count as one item, AirPods and AirPods Pro (1st generation) count as two items, and AirPods Pro (2nd generation) count as three items.”

This update is a significant enhancement for users who rely on Apple’s ecosystem to keep track of their personal items. The ability to track twice as many devices not only provides greater convenience but also enhances security for users who have multiple Apple and compatible third-party products.

In addition to this update, Apple Arcade, the company’s gaming subscription service, has also added three new gaming titles to its platform – Tamagotchi Adventure Kingdom, Cornsweeper, and Blackjack by MobilityWare+. These new additions further expand the diversity of gaming experiences available to Apple Arcade subscribers.

Furthermore, Apple Arcade announced that it would be launching more than 20 major updates to popular games this month. Among these updates, the 2023 App Store Award winner, Hello Kitty Island Adventure, is set to celebrate the Year of the Dragon with its Luck & Lanterns Celebration starting January 19.

These latest developments from Apple demonstrate the company’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its product and service offerings. The expansion of the ‘Find My’ network limit to 32 devices is particularly noteworthy, as it directly impacts the daily convenience and security of Apple users. With these updates, Apple continues to solidify its position as a leader in both technological innovation and entertainment, offering advanced solutions and engaging experiences to its global user base.
