Azizi Developments, a prominent Dubai-based private developer, has embarked on an ambitious project to construct what will become the city’s second tallest tower. With an estimated cost of $1.5 billion (approximately Dh5.5 billion), this new addition is poised to further enhance Dubai’s reputation as a city of architectural marvels.
Slated for completion in 2028, the tower, whose name is yet to be announced, will be located opposite the World Trade Centre on the bustling Sheikh Zayed Road. This architectural masterpiece is designed to incorporate a vertical mall, offering a unique shopping experience. It will also feature luxury residences and penthouses, catering to those seeking high-end living spaces.
A highlight of the tower will be a 7-star hotel, setting a new benchmark for luxury hospitality in the region. The hotel is expected to be accompanied by an observation deck that will offer breathtaking views of the cityscape, along with several upscale restaurants and other high-end amenities.
Mirwais Azizi, the founder and chairman of Azizi Developments, sees this project as a tribute to Dubai. “This tower will be our legacy,” he stated, acknowledging the safety and abundant opportunities his family has received from Dubai. “With Dubai having given my family and me so much, this tower, which will be the second tallest, is our way of giving back to this emirate and its remarkably hospitable and welcoming people,” Azizi added.
The challenge to become the second tallest building in Dubai involves surpassing the 425-meter tall Marina 101 and the recently announced Franck Muller Aeternitas Tower, which will stand at 450 meters in Dubai Marina. To achieve the status of the world’s second tallest tower, the new development would have to exceed the height of Malaysia’s Merdeka 118, which measures 679 meters and was completed in November last year.
The completion of Azizi’s tower will not only redefine Dubai’s skyline but also symbolize the city’s ongoing commitment to pioneering architectural and engineering feats. As Dubai continues to grow as a global hub for luxury and innovation, this tower is set to become a landmark symbolizing the city’s dynamic and forward-thinking spirit.
