BCB Group Partners with Metaco and Ripple for Enhanced Crypto Custody Services

BCB Group, known for providing business accounts and trading services in the crypto industry, has announced a strategic partnership with Metaco, a company owned by Ripple specializing in digital asset infrastructure technology. This collaboration aims to boost compliance, security, and operational efficiency in BCB Group’s digital asset custody operations.

In a significant move, BCB Group has shifted its custody services to Metaco’s premier custody platform. This transition allows BCB Group to unify its custody technology on a single, comprehensive platform, significantly bolstering the security and governance of its digital asset management. The partnership, supported by IBM’s Cloud Hyper Protect Services, is designed to optimize performance and guarantee comprehensive security for digital asset transactions.

Oliver Tonkin, Co-founder and CEO of BCB Group, emphasized the collaboration’s importance, stating that it is crucial for the company to continue offering top-tier, secure, and cost-effective services to the digital asset ecosystem. The partnership with Ripple, Metaco, and IBM Cloud marks a significant stride towards achieving this goal.

Aaron Sears, SVP of Global Partner and Customer Success at Ripple, highlighted the partnership’s potential to equip BCB Group with an institutional-grade custody platform, enabling the firm to expand its crypto services for clients. Sears underscored the importance of a secure and flexible custody infrastructure, which is vital for scaling business models in the digital asset economy and complying with current and future regulatory requirements worldwide.

Metaco has been progressively increasing its presence in the digital asset sector. The company previously partnered with Standard Chartered’s Zodia Custody, an FCA-registered crypto custodian, to extend services to the latter’s clients. Additionally, Metaco collaborated with global banking giant HSBC to launch cryptocurrency custody services for HSBC’s customers, marking another notable milestone in Metaco’s expansion in the digital assets space.
