Etisalat by e&, the telecom company that recently rebranded from Etisalat Group, has announced the launch of a new Mobile Security Operation Centre (MSOC) in partnership with the UAE Cybersecurity Council. The MSOC will provide real-time protection services for business customers, safeguarding mobile phones from malicious attacks such as viruses and disruptive software that can target mobile devices like smartphones and tablets.
With the increasing number of mobile phone users and global business performance, the UAE business sector faces critical challenges in terms of cybersecurity. The Cybersecurity Council was established in November 2020 to develop and oversee the UAE’s cybersecurity strategy and create a secure and robust cyberinfrastructure in the country. The MSOC is part of this strategy, offering cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies and solutions to businesses.
Dr. Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, said that the new center “will support in enhancing the level of protection from cyber crimes and also play a vital role in protecting the integrity of businesses and ensuring sensitive data is secured.” He added that the new initiative was in line with the UAE leadership’s cybersecurity strategy to create a safe and strong cyberinfrastructure in the country.
